People still complained incessantly about how unlikeable they were though. They're actually concerned about plot events and are reserved instead of just dumping all their life stories onto you the day after you meet. They don't make the character revolve around their sexual preferences. Astarion is flamboyant and Lae'zel has a secret crush on the Gith queen.īut you know what they don't do? They don't rub it in your face. Their writing is just dogshit.īaldur's Gate 3's writing is miles better and it isn't even really that great.īTW, BG3 has at least 2 bisexual characters at the start. not fun, and frustrating to no end.The worst thing is that all their personalities are unlikable on top of that. I love Pathfinder but there idea of balance is just idiotic. i don't know if i'll ever buy an owlcat game again. It doesn't feel good, its highly frustrating and it kind of has put me off of playing the game entirely.Īt this point i'm just going to run the AP with my sunday group and. i do not understand owlcats obsession with throwing enemies at the player that are 10 to 12 levels higher then the PC's. It was just bad from the get go.įrom a long time D&D player. His soldiers are apparently so loyal they will let him break the law without question. i didn't care for it, i didn't like Halrun, i think he's way to high level to be beaten by some nabasu, he does't give any good gear on top of it. who just do what he says with out question? The whole encounter was very poorly constructed. He's very clearly out of his mind and insane beyond recovery. More then ANY of that- we get ZERO chance to even reason with him, we can't use diplomacy we can't, talk him down.

He can be beaten its true, but just feels off and he can still very easily kill the PC's if they aren't ready for it. But personally i don't think throwing a CR 13 creature even with level drain, at a group of PC's at that level. More Over Halrun does not exist in the original AP so there is no way to know what the intent for him was suppose to be.

That he's border line reality warping power. that he's a Legendary soldier that people tell tales about, that he's so powerful that most common folks couldn't fathom his abilities.

But according to his level, that's exactly what Owlcat is implying. Now i dunno about anyone else but i don't see Halrun as being equivalent to Persus or Achilles not even close. To put it into perspective Halrun according to this is beyond veteran, and ascended into legend. You are an expert swordsman or a mage of unrivaled power.īy level 10 you are known by name, you are a legend among mortals, people talk about you in tales and stories as being something more then mortal, perhaps even touched by the gods.īy level 15 you are considered to be a Demi-god, you can warp reality or are so skilled with a weapon you put masters to shame.īy level 20 you have reached near god status, you can warp reality, create something from nothing and petition your god for aid on a whim. Level 1 you are an above average soldier, a cut above the rest.īy level 5 you are a veteran soldier, you have seen more in your time then most people do in entire life times.

Plus they *warn* you how dangerous he is before you mess with him. I'm pretty sure I just threw down a Grease and Pit on his group, then beat him to death before they could all recover. Originally posted by Planeforger:Hulrun wasn't too bad.
